Private Skipper & Yachtmaster Ocean
40,000+ nautical miles · Sail & power · Worldwide experience
Trust
I have been sailing yachts for more than ten years, as a skipper for private crews, as an instructor and on deliveries. Safety, honest communication and a relaxed atmosphere on board always come first.
Services
Four kinds of trips, from a relaxed holiday charter with family and friends to a delivery across open water.

01
Your trip, your crew, your pace. I take care of navigation, manoeuvres, weather and harbour logistics.

02
Practice instead of theory: manoeuvres, harbour approaches, anchoring, navigation and safety, matched to your level.

03
Deliveries from yard, charter base or winter storage to the destination harbour, reliable and properly documented.

04
Longer legs, night passages, fishing and cooking on board, for everyone who wants more than bay hopping.

About me
Swiss skipper, at home on the water since 2014, from inland lakes to the Atlantic.
It all started on Swiss waters with the inland licence A & D. Curiosity turned into a profession: offshore licence, then RYA/MCA training up to Yachtmaster Ocean.
Since then I have covered more than 40,000 nautical miles under sail and power, on holiday charters, training trips and deliveries.
On board I am calm and direct: clear agreements, clean manoeuvres, an honest assessment of weather and area. And because a trip is more than miles, fishing and cooking on board are part of it.

Qualifications
All certificates listed have actually been earned, nothing added, nothing rounded up.
2014
Licence for motor and sailing boats on Swiss waters.
2015
Entitlement to command yachts on the high seas, sail and power.
2016
Internationally recognised exam for trips up to 150 nautical miles from a safe harbour.
2019
The highest RYA/MCA level for yacht skippers, including astronavigation and an ocean passage.
In short: the highest British skipper qualification for yachts. It requires a documented ocean crossing, navigation by sun and stars without electronic aids, and independently planning and commanding a yacht far from shore and assistance.
On board
Three things that belong together on my trips, and that turn a passage into a voyage.

Sail trim, manoeuvres, night watches, quiet anchorages. Anyone who wants to join in learns what is needed on board.

On longer legs a trolling line is almost always out. Whatever comes on board is used respectfully, often straight in the galley.

Good food is part of the trip. Fresh fish, local ingredients from the harbour and a galley that works even in a swell.

Process
From the first enquiry to the return to harbour, transparent and without surprises.
You describe area, dates, crew size and what you hope for. No obligation.
We clarify yacht, route, experience level and budget. I say honestly what is realistic.
Yacht and dates are fixed. You receive crew list, packing list and travel information.
Safety briefing, daily weather briefing, manoeuvres that suit the crew, plus time for bays, fishing and the galley.
Photos and logbook data, and, if you like, planning for the next one.
Logbook
Two special voyages, documented on Polarsteps. The maps show the routes sailed with the individual legs and photos.
The legs of the circumnavigation: long passages, night sailing and ocean crossings, documented with map and photos.
The trip on the river Rhine: locks, inland waters and harbours, captured leg by leg.
Both maps are loaded directly from Polarsteps.
